Just received by Paypal the deposit for my first booking. An enquiry from my 3 month trial with holidaylets. Really exciting.

Congratulations!

I remember that feeling -- now just wait until they come, stay, love it, and give rave reviews!

Congratulations! It looks to be a beautiful location and I'm sure they won't be disappointed, even if you don't have everything in the place yet!

Thanks guys, they'll probably be our first guests too, as the dates they've booked are just after our stay there at New Year.

Congratulations Helen - I received my first direct booking (previously we did everything through an agency) three or so weeks ago and I remember the triumphant feeling very well.

Well done!! I think I hardly rested the first week someone was in our cottage in case anything went wrong!!

Last night I let the last week (29th Oct) of the season I really wanted to let, anything else would be a bonus but we'll be pleased to use the place ourselves again by Nov so I'm celebrating too

Congratulations Helen!!!

It's a lovely feeling when someone thinks your holiday home is a place they want to spend time in.

Holidaylets have been very good for me as well. We have received five bookings for 2006 and all came from holidaylet.net

Long may the bookings continue!!!

Congratulations Helen! One simple word of advice. Treat every booking as your first and you will never look back. I too remember the joy of the first booking and I still feel that way with every booking. The day this feeling subsides, I will stop doing this business. If your hearts not in it, it won't work.

I thoroughly agree with you John. This work can be (perhaps, to outsiders!) surprisingly demanding and stressful at times, but the triumphant feeling of clinching a booking . . . and the pleasure at hearing guests have had a good holiday because of the hard work you've put in . . . make it all worthwhile . . . and that, to me, makes the financial aspect almost secondary . . . well, OK, I did say almost!

Well done Helen!

To pick up John's point - today I received a booking - it wasn't my first but it was the first new client booking for 2006 - so my first well ahead of the season booking - and that felt just as good as the very first one - the rewards keep coming!
