SXSW 2006 - accommodation in Austin,TX

Post by Garri »

The South By Southwest music and media conference is between March 10-19 next year and I need a good resource where I can find suitable accommodation in Austin Texas.

Anyone have some ideas where I can start?

Thanks in advance.

Garri, I'll check out with my musician friend Bob, he's from Tulsa and has played at the event before.

My friend Bob suggested the official site http://2006.sxsw.com/ he said he usually booked accommodation through there. I looked and there is a hotel link, probably one of those get in early as places will probably book out quickly. Are you playing there or just in attendance?

I'm arranging a trip for November 2006! It is our 25th wedding anniversary and I want to go to Mexico for the Day of the Dead festival. I've heard hotels book our over a year in advance for some of the villages so I'm early planning too.

Hi Soo, thanks for the link but I know about that site already

They just seem to mention hotels but a house would be best.

Attending. Two of my artists are playing there. My 'playing' days ended in 1988!

The conference gets more and more popular every year, so it's going to be difficult finding suitable accommodation, even hotels.

Good luck with your trip and if you come across any cool sites that may be of use to me then please pm me.

Cheers!

Don't know if any of those are useful, but it's a start...
