AA Launch Self Catering Quality Star Grading Scheme

Post by WASCO »

The AA has launched is own self catering star grading scheme. As of 03-Mar-10, the scheme has not yet been endorsed by the members of the Federation of Self Catering Associations (FoNSCA), which include the Wales Association of Self-Catering Operators (WASCO), the English Association of Self-Catering Operators (EASCO) the Association of Scotland's Self-Caterers (ASSC) and the Northern Ireland Self-Catering Holiday Association (NISCHA); nor is it yet known whether the UK's national tourist boards will accept the AA's scheme as an alternative to their own schemes.

Some of the benefits of the AA's scheme include:
  • An AA star rating
Free annual classification certificate and window sticker
Dedicated page on the newly updated travel and accommodation listings pages on www.theAA.com
Opportunity to purchase a hotlink to your own website
Free subscription to INtouch, the members’ newsletter
Use of widely recognised AA logos and a range of other signs available
Save up to 30% off AA Breakdown Cover for new AA Breakdown Members
Save 10% off subsequent AA Breakdown Cover renewals
£36 off a block booking of 12 lessons with AA Driving School
    5% off with AA Getaways
Special deals from AA Insurance and AA Financial Services
10% off already discounted prices on all purchases made at www.theAA.com/shop
10% off bespoke AA signs (excludes your star rating signage)
If you already participate in your national tourist board's star grading scheme, before joining the AA's scheme you should wait to see if your tourist board will accept the AA's scheme as an alternative to their own scheme. If you don't, you may find that you have to participate in both if you want your business featured on the AA's website and to continue being featured on your national and regional tourist board sites.
