We would be interested to know how people have approached the ' taxe de sejour' on renting property in France - our region is Aquitaine. We would be interested in people's experience and practice on how this is best dealt with in France generally.
Thank you in advance for any insights/tips from practical experience.

What we do is get a form from the mairie that asks us to list month-by-month how many adults and children of 12 or more spent a night at the property.
We then have to pay .15 euros for each person per night.
We pay it ourselves from the rent, we don't ask for further money from people staying (unlike our neighbour, who does).
No big deal really and perhaps our least challenging administrative hurdle.
If I am not sure if someone in the house was more or less than 12 I guess. If I don't know the maire won't know either.
