Consultation on Energy Performance Certificates
We have been asked by LACORS (Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services) to find out what percentage of self-catering operators include fuel costs in their rental fees. The Government is currently consulting on whether Energy Performances Certificates (EPCs) should be compulsory for all holiday lets. We want to make a strong case that this is irrelevant for consumers, as they will not be saving any more by choosing a business that is more energy efficient.
Whilst VisitEngland supports the Government's environmental policy and enourages tourism businesses to reduce their carbon footprint, we would like to provide LACORS with a realistic estimate of the percentage of self-catering businesses in England that currently include fuel costs in their charges. The consultation document suggests that making the EPC available to consumers will enable them to save money by choosing more efficient properties.
This survey is a simple yes/no question. Please click here http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2G7L7TH to complete this survey, which will automatically calculate the results for us so that we can pass them to LACORS on Thursday of this week (27th May 2010).
Many thanks.
