Nervously awaiting arrival of guests tomorrow...

From the moment they step through the door your bookings become guests, and their experiences determine whether they ever come back.

Deb,

There is a Little Portugal vibe in that part of London.

There is indeed. I lived there for 20 years.

Don't know yet as they leave on Thursday!

I did pick up the euros this afternoon as planned. They treated it as if doing me a big favor... and then complained that they hadn't a clue what to do for the next few days. I ran through a grand range of options to which they all responded with a rather blank stare. Husbands seemed most interested in keeping the wives from shopping; wives seemed most interested in shopping.

One thing they did agree upon: great frustrated that all the local butchers were closed on Monday and they couldn't have a BBQ tonight. I sent them to a normal supermarket so that, if nothing else, their Lisbon BBQ has been salvaged.

Uh-oh. I'm nervous again!

On second thought, life is short. Better to relax and indulge in an ice cold Diet Coke and more chocolate cookies... ahhh....

Amen.

I was inclined to feel a bit silly... much ado about nothing and all... until I remembered that the entire pre-booking was really quite strange. So I'd do it all again, especially running for support and suggestions here at Laymyhat.

Champagne and chocolate, yum. Calls for a toast: to all the great guests out there!
  • May those who rent from us, love us
And those who don't love us
    May God turn their hearts
And if He can't turn their hearts,
May He keep them from removing their makeup
    With our fluffy white towels
