... the 'animals' survive much better.
Not here, sadly, where the slaughter of innocent killer whales, pirhanas, crocodiles, snakes and turtles continues apace alongside hatchet jobs on the more boring rings, lilos and boats. To compound the problem, it's virtually impossible to buy replacements this late in the season.

Vera's right that we've always made a thing of family fun in the pool and inflatable toys are a part of that. Indeed, when I've finished preparing the pool on changeover days, a few large and colourful toys bobbing around in the briny does add that finishing touch. Another problem arises when guests do buy expensive inflatables and then become possessive of them - even taking them back to their gites at night or when they go on day trips.

I actually encourage our guests to take their inflatables away when they've finished with them to avoid the problem of them being burst by other guests.
We used to provide quite a few inflatables, nothing huge just crocodiles, whales and the like but some didn't even last a day - too many children leaping on them at once.
Then other guests would bring in their own, including the big double mattresses, fancy lilos etc which other people thought they were entitled to use (maybe because they didn't know which were provided by us and which ones weren't for communal use)
After talking to several guests the general consensus was that people should bring and be responsible for their own so now all we provide is some floats, beach balls and the long foam tubes, bits of which, as Jim said, are found lying around - but they do last long enough to justify the expense.
