I'm currently looking into the idea of purchasing a property in Tunisia with the aim of having a winter bolt hole and promoting it as a summer holiday rental and would really appreciate thoughts and perhaps others' experience on the subject.
Firstly is there a viable holiday rental market to slot into? With the huge number of cheap package deals on the market, both from the UK and Europe are rentals dead in the water?
The apparent lack of budget flights; have I been missing some?
If you know the country what centres would you recommend?

We considered Tunisia during our search for a holiday home several years ago fabulous country. However, if you consider this as a holiday-rental, check the flights/prices/competition in the area. African holiday destinations are are the increase.
