Hi Sarah

We're with a couple of sites..

www.ferienhausmiete.de (a free site, in English, German,French & Polish)

and

www.costaholidays.com (this site does a free translation into German for you)

We've had enquiries from the free site (but no bookings as yet), and quite a few enquires from Costaholidays with a couple of bookings from them. To be fair to both sites the villa was already booked for most of the enquiries.

Homelidays.com does a German language version. I have had lots of bookings for my apartment in France through them.

Thanks. I am just trying to work out who to market the place too. I have spotted afew Germans about the place so may go for one of their sites and I did try the Lady last year but I left it a bit too late in the season. So am thinking about listing one for January?

We took an ad in the Lady and all we got was some old dears ringing up for a bit of a chat.

How would you deal with the enquires that come back in German.

I also wonder how effective the English side would be relative to the German version. I know that Abritel does quite a few languages but almost without fail the enquires come in French.

Lastly I wonder if this is like H-R with their French site, successful in English but a real small player in French (if a player at all...)
So you wanted a holiday home in france ...

Do you all supply sufficient towels to ensure that the German guests can reserve their place round the pool each morning?

I rang around a number of advertisers from a German site to ask how effective it was - they all speak German (I don't), so I gave up. I don't think you could count on many requests coming through in English.
Best,
Alexia.
