Can anyone recommend a calendar that shows tariff and availability please? I've found quite a few freebies but they don't seem to include tariffs and I don't want my page to look too busy.

cheers
Tracy

The calendar on my website does, but it isn't free, it's part of a whole booking and admin system.

You may have found something by now but in case not: OH did ours himself using tables. He updates it himself.

Free calendar here: http://www.laymyhat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26121

If you want a rate card too, then have a look at the full PIMS.

If it's of interest I can give you my referral code which then benefits us both. You can purchase the lite version or it goes right up to Platinum for those with many properties and agencies. I've used the system since early on in my business and it's grown with it. I'd thoroughly recommend.

I use AvailabilityCalendar.com about 20 for two properties; it's nothing fancy but works well enough.

Hi,

We've had a website for several years but it was coded by my software developer husband and the calendar, whilst pretty, is a pain to edit (cyberduck anyone?!) and not ical compatible. I've started looking recently into expanding our advertising and realise that we really should have a calendar which can integrate with other booking websites. Yes I know I'm rather late to the party! Seeing this topic I am wondering about using the free PIMS calendar or one of the others suggested. However my husband is keen to "go it alone" if possible and thinks we should use Google calendar to create something. My (albeit) small look into this left me none the wiser as to how to actually create anything which remotely resembles an availability calendar, let alone one which which we could export etc. and googling the topic hasn't helped either. I was wondering if any of you lay my hatters use Google calendar for your website availability calendar? If so, do you know of any advice online I could read which would help? Of course if I get no replies I can tell my husband it's a silly idea Very Happy

Thanks,
Susan

For coding addicts, it's easy to generate an iCal file. The details are in this snippet of python code:

Code:

# .ics dates are yyyymmdd

    calstart = """BEGIN:VCALENDAR
PRODID:-//Google Inc//Google Calendar 70.9054//EN
VERSION:2.0
CALSCALE:GREGORIAN
METHOD:PUBLISH
X-WR-CALNAME:%s
X-WR-TIMEZONE:Europe/London
"""

    calevent="""BEGIN:VEVENT
DTSTART:20%sT160000Z
DTEND:20%sT100000Z
DTSTAMP:20%sT222451Z
UID:%s
CREATED:20%sT221807Z
DESCRIPTION:
LAST-MODIFIED:20%sT221807Z
LOCATION:
SEQUENCE:0
STATUS:CONFIRMED
SUMMARY:Booking
TRANSP:OPAQUE
END:VEVENT
"""
    calend = "END:VCALENDAR\n"

So start with the calstart chunk. For each booking append a calevent chunk and finish with calend. Then FTP the file up to the cloud somewhere.

%s represents a substitution string and these just require a date as yymmdd as the "20" is already there. The one substitution which isn't a date is UID: (unique identifier, e.g. guest name).

Right over my head Ben but I showed my husband and he said it was interesting and could be a good way of doing it so thanks very much for your advice.
