Florida weather question.

Post by shamac »

Daughter is desperate to do Harry Potter theme park, she's a crazy mad fan  but husband not keen on the heat. Is there a time of year when you would recommend-know it will be hottish year round but is there a cooler season??

December. We have been there in December for the past 4 years and for the past 2 years some days were quite chilly. So much we are thinking of trying somewhere else this year.
It is better to remain quiet and have one think you are stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt....

The biggest mistake we make in life is thinking we have time.

December and January can be quite cold. February and March are milder (can also be warm) but not as humid as later in the year.

Thank you  We were thinking maybe last couple of weeks in February-what would this be like crowds wise? Does it clash with any American holidays? I understand President's week is busy? Does that fall then? Am trying to plan a theme park trip around a husband who doesn't do heat or crowds!! nightmare!!

Presidents Day is the third Thursday in Feb so in 2012 that makes it Feb 20.
March has Epcot Flower festival which goes on untilMay so may not be too bad all the time although there are good events on within the flower event itself.
Feb 24-26 is Princess marathon weekend.
March 2-4 is ESPN weekend
These are all Disney events but as HP is at Universal they may not affect your plans too much but HP is very popular and will more than likely have crowds whenever you go but weather wise early March isn't bad.

Crowdwise you are best off after Thanksgiving, but before Christmas week. Then it is also cheapest hotel prices.

Check out mousesavers.com for advise on the rest of the year.

Good luck!

Sorry, didn't think about that it is Harry P you want to visit.

I still think that mousesaver could give you some hints, though.

October, November and early December have nice temperatures and are usually beyond the worst of the Hurricane season.

January can be cold, and there can be difficulties with flights if it snows somewhere along your travels.

February through April can be quite crowded.

May and June are also very nice.

The Summer is HOT... HOT... HOT... and usually quite crowded.

Also stay away from US or UK holiday periods.

"Presidents Day is the third Thursday in Feb so in 2012 that makes it Feb 20."

FYI, Presidents Day is always on a Monday, so it's a 3 day weekend for people here. It would be in the Feb 20th range though.
