How to handly enquirier that believes deposit is too high

Post by bananacake »

I just received a booking request for one night in low season and the enquirer said that the Euro 200 deposit was too high and asked if the deposit could be eliminated as they were 4 adults and no children.

From my experience i have rented to adults only who have made more mess than with families that had children and therefore not sure i would want to eliminate or reduce the deposit.

How would you handle this enquiry??

If it's your refundable damage deposit I don't seee what the problem is , they will get it back unless they trash the place.

Is a 1 night booking really worth it though?

I'm assuming it's a reservation deposit and not a security deposit. But like Helen I would query if it's worth it for one night.

It's a refundable damage deposit This is the first time I've been asked to reduce the damage deposit...

No I would stick to your standard deposit. I appreciate that from the guest perspective it seems high for a one nighter, but there is no less risk involved is there? Are you extending your check in and out time for them? Otherwise they won't even get a full day at the accommodation will they?

I'm just impressed that you can make a one-night stand pay!
