My domain ran out earlier this year (unbeknownst to me  ) and it was up for a couple of weeks beyond expiry date whilst they sent me email reminders that I didn't see. So don't get your hopes up if it stays live for a while longer (unless it is renewed of course!)

A recent Whois lookup shows that the dateblocker.com domain name has been renewed for at least another year, at least according to internic.net.
Updated Date: 29-nov-2012
Creation Date: 28-nov-2006
Expiration Date: 28-nov-2013

>>> Last update of whois database: Fri, 30 Nov 2012 03:00:58 UTC <<<

NOTICE: The expiration date displayed in this record is the date the
registrar's sponsorship of the domain name registration in the registry is
currently set to expire. This date does not necessarily reflect the expiration
date of the domain name registrant's agreement with the sponsoring
registrar. Users may consult the sponsoring registrar's Whois database to
view the registrar's reported date of expiration for this registration.
Interesting that the registrar's (moniker.com) own whois database still shows a 2012 expiration date (but note the last update date)!

Is it worth continuing with it if you are always concerned if it will be ther next year, the year after.
Why would you?

It also offers the ability to show statuses other than "available" or "not available" (booked), like "pending" and "special offer" -- and it has a multi-property calendar -- I haven't yet found another calendar or reservation system with these same features.

Same reasons as the other posters plus it is independent from any specific rental listing site and best of all it is really easy to customise and add to your website - no wrestling with coding.

Dateblocker site cannot be found..

Post by Elcarmoli »

Just a quick heads up for those that use dateblocker - the site is not there this morning. I noticed as I received a request through our website for a week already booked. Not sure how long it has been gone or whether it is permanent, I've just changed to another calendar. A real shame as I do love the ease of this calendar.

Must have been just a blip as I updated on it yesterday so perhaps they were doing some work on it overnight. I love it. I hope it doesn't disappear.

It does have occasional short outages. It's always come back before long so far (touch wood)

Seems to have been gone for a few days now.
Any tips for a good alternative?
