UK second home market booming
Excellent - there really aren't enough people in this market already - we need the Mail and Dirty Desmond's Sexpress to encourage everyone else in to make a quick buck!
I wonder how that Cotswold Water Park property managed to increase so much in value this year. In the Lakes we've seen values hurtling down over the last 2 years.
Smells like a PR article to me, but then I'm a cynic.

"...according to research from Knight Frank..."
Doesn't really tell you a great deal, does it?!
What was the research they did? What were the statistics? Did they take into account that first time buyers are just having a hard time of it all?
No? Hmmm... I suspected as much...

Just read the rest of the article... I'm intrigued by the "lakeside lodge near Kendal" since I'm not aware of any here.
What do you think, John? Pine Lake Resort next to the M6 and not even in Cumbria...?

There is a rather bizarre link that isn't a link at the bottom of the article but this is I thing the lodge in question based on the property id number. (I've added a space before the id here)

Kendal huh! It's nearer to blinking Morecambe.
Mind you it's a lovely place to stay if you are a keen car spotter.

Indeed... a bit of a bugbear of mine.
Listed under 'Carnforth' a subdivision of 'Cumbria/Lake District', yet Carnforth - as you well know - is in neither.
HR are just as bad: http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/search ... gion:23943 putting all the Pine Lake Resort lodges under 'Kendal & South Lakes', a subdivision of 'Cumbria & Lake District National Park'.
