Is anyone using Pinterest as a marketing tool?

Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Linkedin, Youtube, TikTok, etc.

Following pressure from interested organisations, Pinterest have now removed the 'right to sell' from their website and have admitted that its inclusion was a mistake. Nothing else has changed - it's still the responsibility of users to ensure that they're not infringing copyright (with all its legal implications).

I haven't failed to notice (with the honourable exception of GG) the complete lack of interest in this subject, so I'll post no more information on Pinterest.

:D Thanks Jimbo - AFAIK cottageguru, who opened the topic, is still interested in this subject too.

Here's the link to the new terms of service which will take effect from April 6th. I'm still trawling through them but would love others' feedback.

Not at all Jim; just not using it and therefore nothing useful to say, but always interested in reading and learning.

I'm sure lots of people read with interest without ever posting!

I'm using it in fits and burst, but haven't really got good at it yet! I think that I could only pretty much do a better job than I am now, but I guess I have made a start.

As always Jim your musings (!) give another view that as a layman I wouldn't have given any thought, before.

Just to say that I have joined the list of Pinterest enthusiasts - thanks to GG's encouragement. I'm going to try to use it as marketing tool - how successfully time will tell!

Thanks GG - lucky my hubby is off on "holiday" with his folks at our place in Brittany so he can't complain the amount of time I've been working on the laptop this weekend!

And on the perennial copyright issue here is an interesting blog post from one of our local photographers that cuts through the crap in a common sense way (to me at least).

wow, Im soo glad to see folks on LMH have discovered Pinterest! I got hooked on it for garden and decor ideas, and thought, hey Im going to throw some fotos of my gite on there (I have tons of fotos of our area anyway, and love to show them off- I love living in France!) so I copied them from my website (so it will always come back to my site-free advertising!) and at the same time I can show the world how wonderful our little part of the world is-sw france-gascony. BTW FB wont take pins, but I believe theyre the only one, do a google images search, or just upload from your computer! Its soo fun and addictive! I dont know if I have had any bookings from this, but like FB and Twitter, etc. does that get anything either? Pinterest is BIG now, and its not your typical advertising...its considered soft, friendly advertising...I kinda like that :D

Thought, I'd resurrect this.......

Its been claimed that Pinterest users are 97% female. That's an amazing statistic, but explains maybe why I don't get it, or why this topic has faded away.

But, here is a competitor, that looks very similar, but is definitely aimed at men:

I love the way that images are not pinned or re-pinned but nailed and re-nailed :D

And, no, its not a porn site, and there are very few images of scantily clad ladies !
