Questions for anyone with a heated pool

Post by Bellywobble »

What temperatures do you manage to heat the pool to in winter?

What would be generally conisdered to be an acceptable heat?

Do you guarantee a specific temperature?

Thanks. I haven't really got a clue how to market mine.

At the moment you could ice skate on ours but when we do switch it all on I set the heater for 26 degrees which seems to be a temperature commercials pool run at.

I heat to 28°C, but then it is cooler in Brittany than Spain!

I swim outdoors in winter in the London Fields Lido which is advertised as being alway 25 though it's sometimes 26 - it's nice, but I don't think you'd want to swim in much less

It's snowing tonight in London so I am going tomorrow! I've always wanted to go in the snow. It really is nice but you have to peg it in and out :)

Do you keep the pools at these temperatures or heat them as required? If so, how long does it take you to get the temperature up?

Hope you enjoyed the swim Martha!

We only heat the pool from April and it is heated on request and covered.

I only heat from start April to start November. In April and end October the pool temp depends on the air temp too - if it is very cold then the heater can't heat to 28°C. I take the pool temperature from the bottom of the pool, not the surface as this gives an incorrect reading because it is warmer by some 3°C+.

First time I've seen a wooly swimming hat!

La Vache, we are similar to you in that the temperature that we can reach depends on the outside temp.

How do you advertise yours? Whenever we get an enquiry, I think I talk them out of it as I say that we can't guarantee the temperature. :?
