Getting website link on Facebook page - eureka!

Post by French Cricket »

This might be useful to someone other than me (or there again you might have all worked this out a long time ago) . But anyway, I've finally worked out how to get my website link prominently showing in the 'About' section at the top of my Facebook page.

The problem, apparently, is that if you're categorised as a 'local business' you only get the option of having your address and phone number showing, whereas all the other categories have a short description (which can include a clickable link) right underneath the cover picture.

I'd previously picked 'local business > hotel', which I've now changed to 'company > travel and leisure'. Et voilà - description and link has replaced phone number and non existent - because Bing maps apparently can't find France - map.

So I'm a chirpy cricket again.

Thanks FC - just done it!

When I originally set up my page, I asked the question here as to what was the best category, but didn't get an answer quick enough, so I ploughed on choosing local business. What I did notice was that you had the option to change it in the future, so I wasn't unduly worried.

You've now found the reason for changing it so thanks again. I don't have a clickable link as yet, but I'll try and do that in due course (if I remember how that is)

Nemo, you just put your web address (with the http in front of it) in your description and FB makes it clickable.

Helen - what didn't work?
