disappearing books...help please

Post by lorca »

We have just made a new website on Weebly (phew). OH has made a "bookshop" page of relevant books and dvds from Amazon (inspired by Paolo´s - muy muchas gracias Paolo....)

However although the text is visible on all computers (so it seems...) the images of the books aren´t (eg he can see them on his laptop but I can´t on mine, nor can some of our friends :? ). Weebly say they can see them OK and can´t see what the problem is. Can you see books? There should be 5 (in one case 10) books under each paragraph - each should link through to Amazon.

Here´s the link - any thoughts on what the problem might be would be very gratefully received

Many thanks folks..

I can only see the text, lorca, no images.

What I can see as well, under 'Spanish history', is weebly's 'click to set custom html' text. I've had a look at the source code and I see you've used the custom html widget (I'm a weebler too!) for the Amazon links, but the source code for each one has the 'hidden' attribute, for some reason, which presumably is why it's not showing.

I've no idea why or how that might have happened, though, sorry! And as you know you can't edit the html of a widget directly. But you might try removing the custom html boxes and starting over? Or if you can talk me through how you set it up I might be able to come up with something (not a weebly expert by any means - just that I've created 3 websites so have used quite a lot of bits and pieces so far!).

Not that I know of lorca - at least that's how I've done it when I've used the custom html widget. But it's clearly something to do with different browsers not being able to read the code properly. Have you tried viewing the site in different browsers yourself?

Off to eat but back here later.

yes I can see all pics and text.

Lovely idea. Though the link is to Amazon.com rather than co.uk...which would slow me down a bit.

am using chrome.

doesn´t really seem to relate to browsers either :?

tavi - the plan is to do separate ones for .com and .co.uk (we have quite a lot of N American guests) but need to get this sorted somehow first....
