Watermarking or copyrighting photos

Can anyone give me some pointers to a quick and easy way to put a mark of some description on my photos?

Just thinking it would be wise to do this from now on. I used to have photoshop but it's too old a version for my new computer, so just looking at free options on the net please?

I did it via Picasa on my aerial views of Anna Maria Island. If somebody snitches, they will have to advertise my website at the same time! :P

Picasa is free and simple.
Pessimists only get positive surprises.
