Smoke Alarms

Post by mikem »

Hi all ,
As a newbie just setting up thanks for all the valuable information on the site . I've encountered a problem with the new smoke alarm regs . A discussion between local expats has left me confused . One was convinced that the regular alarms were ok, another suggested that smoke plus fire detectors were required in cdhotes . Can anyone confirm the position and if more advanced detectors are needed where can I source them as the local bricos
dont seem to stock anything but the standard model ?

Merci bien :D

Welcome mikem! :D I can't help with your query, but you might also like to post it on the 'France' page as the rules & regs are specific to your location and the French property owners are a very knowledgeable bunch.

Hi mikem and welcome!

No, standard smoke detectors are fine for chambres d'hôtes - just make sure that they conform to the correct norme (EN 14 604).
