What is it with you lot, don't you like children or something!
I'm sorry but I am starting to get really anoyed with the number of posts on here who blame children for everything. We specialise in holidays for families with young children. ALL our guests have chilren under 10, and practically all the damage we get is done by the adults!
Red wine is far more difficult to get out of furniture than baby dribble, tea cups cause rings not juice cups.
We have had families with large numbers of children and only two adults, the biggest family was I think six children, including one boy with down syndrome. Not a spot of damage was done and the children were some of the best behaved most polite I have ever seen.
Remember that children are your future, they will be the doctors and lawyers of the future. They will be the ones who will pay for your pension. So lighten up on them!!

LOL !! I think I'm OK in that dept Ju, remember I've got quite a few of my own, I love 'em but would not want too many in one go !! I've been on holiday with 5 of them frequently but I wouldn't want more than that in my rental house !! Down's is a different kettle if fish altogether and is totally irrelevant to this argument !! Loads of families come to my home and love it- children aren't the issue so much as the quantity of them !! Make the ratio of children to adults too high and with the best will in the world, there could be trouble !! Children are very welcome, but not hoardes of them !

I love children - but as you say Ju - not all parents are the same. The majority of the families that come here are wonderful but sadly we have to plan also for those who take the biscuit.
And my edit is - your examples are all of very young children - my example is of a surfeit of unsupervised 8,9 1O year olds - not the same thing at all.

Oops, sorry didn't mean to sound like I don't like babies!! (or children) As Ju said, the snail trail was pretty easy to clean up and, contrary to how it may have sounded above, I didn't particularly mind it. I had the most dribbliest baby in the whole universe once upon a time, my son could dribble for England!!! Spent about 6 months whilst he was teething with a permanent wet front...
On the contrary, I like seeing bits of evidence that people and their kids have had a good time. These guests left behind some endearing little bath toys, a cute little pink watering can and some little bath fishes. And outside was a big pile of smooth scallop type shells from the local beach which were all laid out in a little corner area and I could imagine the baby having lots of fun sorting through them and piling them up into buckets etc, it did make me smile.
And last time we visited, some other kids (probably older) have rearranged them into a geometric pattern all around the plant pots.
So don't think me a miserable child hater... we have lots of toys, games, beach toys, balls etc at our house because we WANT parents with children to have a great time.
(But I still found the beach towels they left behind useful for covering the sofa, because given the choice I'd rather not have to remove baby dribble from it.)
