Re: 35% of Britons have not booked their summer holidays yet
ABTA put out a press release to try and encourage bookings for package holidays.
Judiciously omitting the salient information, one arrives at a completely spurious conclusion. Usually one that suits the reader (or publisher).
1. The information comes from ABTA who only care about package holidays. In some sense they are our competitors.
2. ABTA only believes around 35 per cent of families are yet to book their main summer break. Not even a reference to a pseudo-scientific survey.
Sorry ianthy, it was not my intention to shoot the messenger

SkyNews and Kay Burley are just running the same report ... so it must be true. Just waiting for Simon Calder now.

News like this does not help be it UKers going to the EU and EUers coming to the UK
http://www.bbc.com/news/business-36369406
And that is not a political statement from us.
Or like this guy. The Turkish hoteliers are almost pleading with the UKers to come to Turkey. Then using the BBC as a publicity wagon.

News the other day suggested a majority of Dutch are looking to taking their vacations in their own country this year.

Agree Frenchlady, with all this shit going on with the unions no one is going to book France now with maybe the exception of those places close to the ferry ports. On the bright side we may make some extra money from guest who cant make it homeFrenchlady wrote:The French (bless them) have just given any hope we had of getting any bookings the kiss of death. They sure know how to finish off their tourism industry.
