Text message quoting HA property number

Post by ellerhow »

I received a text message this afternoon.

Hi,Interested in your property no#10****7 from 10/15/2016 to 10/22/2016. Please contact me at: pe*t*r@mapisp3.com.

What do you all think? Should I email back using gmail account or not bother? Should I report to HA as scam?

Thanks

HA may not even know about it if it came direct to your phone and not through the HA portal.

If you reply to that address, they will then send you an attachment which could be a phishing attempt or perhaps a ransom program which locks the data on your hard drive.
