HL Guest Details on Balance

Post by apexblue »

Is this new. Always guest details on accepting a booking now says on balance paid.
It is better to remain quiet and have one think you are stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt....

The biggest mistake we make in life is thinking we have time.

Hope not!! Where did you read that?

HL commission listing help screen as of today:
Both the guest’s and your contact details are kept private until the guest has made a payment to confirm their booking.

Not really. Someone posted to ask exactly what apex asked. No one replied so she rang them and they confirmed that they weren't supplying details until the final balance was paid.

So that was that

"A payment" could be a deposit though. I've just taken a booking this morning, but as it is last minute, whole amount was due in any case, so I got details straight away.

I have asked the question and yes, guest details won't be available to us until the balance is paid.

Good point kyreniagirl. Nails in coffins springs to mind.

I wonder if a link to a booking form in an email via the HL system will be "trapped"? I'd guess that if not yet, then it soon will be.

After all why are you trying to contact the guest?
The guest is a client of theirs, and you are merely a resource that they, the listing site pay you for.

Know your place !!

I am waiting for an answer to that one.

My T and Cs are attached to my advert so I suppose at a stretch I could include the booking form, ask guest to print off, fill in and return to me. Bit of an ask though for the guest.

How can they return it to you if they don't know who you are? :?

Haha. It's just laughable now.

One thing's for sure. I won't be letting anyone into my property unless I know who they are, and they've returned a booking confirmation form from a known address.

You would normally have the owner name and address on your t and c's/agreement - no? Then you just put in your listing that this is where they find the details of where they must post the booking form to finalise the booking.
