If anyone is looking at creating a new Wordpress site, you might be interested in Alan Egan's '30 day challenge' - he will walk people through the process of getting a site up and running in a series of free videos through the month of September.

Link to his article about it on his Rent More Weeks blog: http://rentmoreweeks.com/2016/08/26/gre ... -giveaway/

Thanks French Cricket. With all the ballyhoo around OD where I currently list, I'm planning on creating my own site this winter. I've only looked at the first video so far. Very helpful already.

Thanks FC, I signed up for Alan's WP tutorial last year sometime but never finished it, will get my act together this time! Dreamweaver gives me too many headaches and it was a massively steep learning curve that I didn't really want to have to do again but I think WP is the way to go these days.

Kathy, I ditched Dreamweaver several years ago for WP and have no regrets at all. Good luck!

I have signed up for this. On week 2. Videos are very clear and Alan is great about answering questions and sorting out any problems if they arise.

Hoping I will have a better responsive site by the end of the month.

My new site has just gone live. I am really pleased with how it has turned out. Alans videos are great and he is on hand if you encounter any problems.

I can highly recommend it. :)

Looks great cartnpa but the first thing I noticed was the spelling of Charente-Maritme! Will go and delve around the rest now

Found a few more cartnpa. There are also a few links that aren't highlighted as links, other than that lots of great content. I must get my act together and sort mine out too!

Thanks Kathy, I really appreciate you taking the time to read it.

I really recommend following Alans videos. I have zero knowledge of Word Press but I really enjoyed creating the site and I am pleased with the result.

Not a problem, I really enjoy proof-reading and spell-checking. :D

Very nice, smart, modern looking site, I like that theme. Need to relook our site completely this winter so will take a look at the videos and try not to overcomplicate myself then maybe WP will work better for me

I have followed Alan's excellent course and have a website live www.discoveralmeria.com

I still need to add more content but it was interesting to follow the course and I certainly learnt a lot about wordpress which i was planning to do anyway.

The aim in Alan's course is to direct people to the region rather than purely focus on the accommodation which has it's own website anyway www.fincaarboleda.com

Whether it works will judged by bookings of course.

Any comments are welcome.
