Chambre d'hote with more than 5 rooms

Hello

Does anyone operate as a chambre d'hote with more than 5 rooms or 15 people?

I thought this was the standard rule for France but there seems to be so many with more rooms...

You cannot have more than 5 rooms in a French chambre d'hote. More than 5 and you are classed as a Hotel.

That is what I understood but I was told that it depended on the commune. I checked with the Mairie, and the rule is across France, not by commune. Just seems a lot of places ignore it :roll:

We would like an extra room, the rules for a hotel permis appear to be a lot more involved
