YOU HAVE RECIVIED (sic) A NEW PAYMENT FROM HomeAway.com

Post by AngloDutch »

We have not seen this before until we received this phishing email this morning. It seems that the HA payment confirmation emails are now being targeted by the phishermen. Some glowing grammatical errors, including the email heading, and the usual clues showing it's a fake email (no personal salutation, etc.):

You have received payment from a Guest

I had this too. Immediate heavy whiff of phish so I sent it straight to spoof@homeaway.com. The sender email was sender.message@homeaway.com

I just amended my post because the 'spoof@' address should not have a hyphen.
