Ikea cutlery

Ikea cutlery

Post by amandajane »

I've searched for the answer to this so if someone is able to remind me - is there a good line of Ikea cutlery that is recommended.

We've finally got a dishwasher and it's just occurred to me that the very pretty but impractical cutlery - vintage look with "ivory" plastic handles isn't going to last 5 minutes in the heat of the dishwasher.

Might it have been Dragon?

The prices shown on this UK site look odd but we use Sedlig, bought from Ikea Caen.

We have Dragon - wear very well, and you can buy sets plus individual extras (at least we can in France). I'd recommend it.

All Ikea stainless steel stuff is solid, as far as I could tell from picking it up and holding it. I think what it feels like in your hands is very important. Happy hunting. :)

Another vote for Dragon. Have it at home and in the rental. 8 years on it still loooks good.

I've got Dragon at home, and some Viners stuff at the apartment, I'll replace it with Dragon when the time comes. I'm using Dragon as our everyday set at home.

I have Dragon at home - I've had to replace a couple of knives because of corrosion.

Viners in the let ( just because I happened to have a set I inherited and I don't like the pattern!)

+1, I also have it as our own everyday cutlery and have had some pieces since we bought our first house, I love it! Very handy too as I can take a few spare pieces with me when we take a holiday at the villa.

There are also Dragon sets for children which is a nice touch if your guests have under 8-year-olds with them. The adult set is slightly heavy for little hands.

Buy two sets as teaspoons tend to disappear.
