AD'AP Obligation reglementaire

Post by vacancesthezan »

We have received a couple of letters from a company purporting to be an organisation tasked with ensuring that establishments have declared their accessibility for PMRs

We have been told that as a chambres d'hotes with less than 15 occupants registered this legislation is not applicable.

However

When we phoned up the company they said that we still had to complete and return an attestation to our Mairie. To download and print the attestation from their website the cost would be 588euros (ouch!)

We think that this company is lifting our leg however we cannot confirm this. We have been to talk to our Mairie but as we are a small village we generally hear about changes in legislation before they do so we have left the paperwork with them and they will contact us back when they have more info.

Therefore do any of you super efficient chambre d'hoters out there know what we need to do (if anything) to make sure that we are compliant ? And hopefully that it wont cost us 588euro to do this!

Thanks in advance

We recently applied for & have received the French "label Tourisme handicap" fo 3 of our properties, soon after VT we received the same email. Thinking it was something to do with the label we contacted the chap from Tourisme handicap Charent Maritime who assessed us for the label this is a translation of the reply:
"Regarding the message you are telling me, it is important not to follow up! It is indeed a scam.
This so-called company will ask you to register so that they can make an inventory of your structure (by charging you a little more than 600 €), and in the end, nothing will be done.

In addition, your activity is not considered an ERP (none of your rooms have a capacity of more than 15 people, and you do not offer any independent services for more than 15 people), so you have no procedure Of Ad'AP to be carried out."

Many thanks for your speedy and useful reply.

We were happy that all was well until they started talking about 588euros!! This rang alarm bells for us. Upon looking again at the 2 letters we received their email address is a "gmail" account and their site is .info and not the usual .gouv.fr for all things important!

We will file these 2 letters under wpb and any that we receive going forward.

Under the LMH rules can I post details of this company so that anyone else getting similar will have a point of reference? Not sure if it is allowed and certainly dont want to give them any publicity!!

Thanks again for the help Bassman
