I have had absolutely no enquiries or bookings, in fact I'd almost forgotten I was on there. Do we get access to any statistics for hits?

Hi Helen,

Of Course Helen...JUST  email them.......

Earlier in this post Paolo posted this...
For reference, holiday havens is one of the sites that have been caught out on this forum when the owner pretended to be a satisfied customer. That does not necessarily reflect on the efficacy of the site, but it tells you something.
I think If they tried that now someone might notice as it would stand out somewhat

The fact that you forgot you were with them is probably a clue as to there capabilities :)

Hi All

I have had 7 emails from Holiday havens today[is that a record] which is pretty good considering Ive been trying to get there attention...
The last one is after he had been told about these entries...

He notes that his attention has been bought to the fact that I have posted about the website on here in an unfair way... :?

To be fair I will put the last email I received here and my reply.

*Dear Ros

I have noted your comment on the Lay my hat forum, this has been brought to
our attention by another owner. I do feel as though we are not represented
fairly here by your comments, but none the less we do appreciate you
comments and take them fully on board as we always have done so in the past.

As I have mentioned to you in our emails today we have experienced problems
with email, we do not deny this, Elizabeth and I are running the business in
our spare time and we are not able to reply straight away in all cases. We
remain committed to HolidayHavens owners as we do with guests who continue
to use the website.

We are actively removing properties who do not renew, this has nothing to do
with selecting what emails we have or have not replied to. We have removed
200 trial listings and expired properties of which yours was included. We
had not removed any over Christmas end of 2006 but have in preparation for
2007.

If you wish to comment in such a way in a forum without fairly using the
comments we make to you, this is unfair and reflects badly on Elizabeth and
I. We are human beings, trying to run a business and we are not sure why you
feel it necessary to go out of your way to criticise us so unfairly due to a
technical / administrative issue, we are not out to con or harm anyone.

We have simply asked you to renew, you have declined & we have removed your
property details.

We are not perfect, computers are not perfect either as we well know.

Kind regards
David & Elizabeth

* Can I just add that this[and none of the others was marked High Priority

This was my reply....
All of my comments made are exactly what has happened with my dealing with
you.

I know the LMH Forum is an open forum and Im glad that your attention has
been bought to the entries[whuch as you can see is from a mixed batch of
contributers was not isolated to my opinion]...
The LMH forum has always been a frank exchange of views and other owners
often ask our opinion of websites this is always answered truthfully but
only from our own prospective.
Other Owners may be very happy with your website and hopefully we will hear
from them,,,......

When I first expressed that I was not happy with what was happening with
Holiday Havens I did not publish your name but after not getting any
response from you after two attempts from you I did...Then other Owners
expressed the same problems..

Hopefully this will help you sort out any problems you might have...
As Ive made clear this is my own opinion of Holiday Havens and Im sure other Rental Owners Have Been Pleased with theyre Performance[as I was initially]

But I cannot endorse a Website that i have had no enquiries or bookings from or could get No Reply from until it was time to Renew......

If David & Elizabeth have now been made aware of this website maybe it would be a great way for them to see any comments that are made and then they will be able to act upon them so that other customers do not feel as I have done.

They would also be able to see that all websites are mentioned from different prospectives...Some in a Good Way and Some Not.

Elizabeth and I are running the business in our spare time
All businesses may get into difficulties from time to time. The problems may be temporary and resolve themselves.

However, anybody paying to advertise has a right to expect the advertising company to be run in an efficient and professional manner and the owners have a duty to provide this level of service unless they clearly state otherwise. If the site is merely a 'spare time' activity (which may compromise its effectiveness), that fact should be drawn to the attention of advertisers BEFORE they pay their money. Most people are likely to be sympathetic if a company in difficulties is honest with them but not if they are deliberately misled.

Hi All,

Ive just received this email as a follow up...as you see David has said that he is happy to have this posted here...
Im Happy to do it ...
It might help what has happened but also people who still advertise with them need to be aware of the change....
Hi Ros

Thank you for your comments and feedback.

Elizabeth & I have had a discussion today regarding the future of
HolidayHavens and we have decided to change the way we manage the website
both financially.

I am in the process of changing the way new properties are added so that we
no longer chase for payment, this means that we will no longer offer a free
trial but a one off payment will secure the listing. What this will mean is
that when a listing is added (or renewed) it will be added permanently. The
word permanently obviously could cause some debate but we will detail this
in our new Tc's & C's..

We are keen to continue to offer a competitive price for listing details and
we expect this to be in the region of approx £35 you are more than welcome
to discuss the pros & cons of this at Lay my hat or in other forums.

By doing this we will reduce our administration costs and be able to focus
on serving customers with enquiries etc. This also gives a fantastic one off
listing fee for owners with the same facilities as before. We will continue
to add in more features.

As mentioned all delays with emails have now been resolved, they were a
historic issue, none the less thank you for bringing your comments to our
attention we do appreciate it.

Kind regards
David & Elizabeth

Hi All,

I received an email today[that makes about 10 in 2 days  ] offering me this new offer of £35 for a 'lifetime'
listing..
I know other customers and past customers have had this and Id be interested in there comments on it. ........

Hopefully if people have just renewed they will be offered something so that they wont be left out of this.

Also other LMH posters what are your opinions??.

An 'exclusive' nightclub opened in our town a few years ago. You had to be a member, & membership was £150 per annum.

They then changed this to a life long membership of £500.

It burned down within the year, never to re-open.

Not a lot more to say really.
