Does anyone list on TM and if so how do you get around the security deposit paid on day of arrival if not on site. We are not on site and guest stating they will pay on arrival as per TM.
It is better to remain quiet and have one think you are stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt....

apexblue, we have been listing with TM since March 2016, but have never received even an enquiry. We don't charge security deposits on HA group sites but can imagine that it is going to be difficult for the guests to pay this if you're not on site. As per TM's terms:
..you have an option to collect security deposit from your guest. On your listing page, don't forget to enter your security deposit amount. Please note that security deposit should be collected in person (and NOT via bank or wire transfer) only upon check in. Our company does not handle collection or reimbursement of this deposit. We will not be liable for any transactions completed outside of our website.
If your guests are quoting TM and saying that they expect to be able to pay this on arrival and receive it back on departure, it looks like your only option is to get someone to meet them on arrival or during their stay, and again on departure. Failing that, maybe waiver the need to pay the security deposit on this occasion and hope that they leave the accommodation as they found it.

We had hoped that this Singaporean HA site would have brought in some Asian guests for us (there are enough Asian tourists visiting Giethoorn - the 'Venice of the North' - not far from us here) but no interest for our farmhouse as yet. Also, the TM quotable rates seem to work quite differently from other HA sites, and we have seem some extremely inaccurate quoting coming from them when our listing is presented next to our VR and OD listings on for example, HA com.

I have just logged into our TM account, so the site seems to be operating normally.
