PR to get into the broadsheet editorials

Hello

We are in the very early stages of buying an unusual property as a holiday let; it's the sort of place that would be written up by the Telegraph or Independent in their "10 most unsual holiday homes" features.

If all goes to plan we'll be ready for bookings next Easter.

Does anyone have any experience of engaging a PR specialist to try to get this sort of editorial coverage?

Thanks for your thoughts on this

I used to work as a PR Administrator. Your best bet would be to make a contact list of the editors of publications you think might be interested, in my day I had to phone up and check or request the name and contact details, I guess today it's all done via email.

You'll need to write a press release with a headline title, but don't be too clever, they'll prefer to write one of their own, you just want to get noticed amongst the 100s of others! Then Write a very brief outline description of your property and its unique features, rtc. Who, What, Where, etc. Don't be too wordy.

Then send it out and keep your fingers crossed. They may just publish what you sent or get back to you for more of a feature.
