At least you dont have to 'prompt' to get a \like' from your partner!

Our first season renting and first with FB. Slowly building up with 'useful likes' not farmed.

There is a cottage a few miles away that has a few thousand likes/followers but never any comments or likes on their posts, obviously farmed likes. I dont understand why anyone does that. No chance of any business from it.

Just started all of the other social media bits, time will tell on those. All aimed at driving traffic to the FB and web page. Make regular checks to look at web hits and where they come from.

I have CDO, it's like OCD but all the letters are in the correct order as they should be!

Facebook remains the third highest source of traffic to my website and has been for quite some time. I post sporadically in groups (I spend more time being an admin on a busy group than I do on my own posts!), and try to post reasonably regularly on my own page.

There's no question it works, but only if you enjoy spending time on it.

As with the big sites I think it all depends on your market, Location, type of accommodation etc.
We've had a FB page for a few years now and I post fairly regularly. It started as something that validated us to bookers and for them to look at in the run up to their holiday but I have had bookings through it.....but all repeat guests which are my main viewers. I have boosted posts but the best need to be intesting to people so they share. But I have picked up a few new viewers.
I do find it interesting to be able to post a link to our page on other FB pages where people are asking for villas.
Thee are very few FB pages for Ibiza or villas that work for me.

Instagram is new to me. But I'm liking it. I have no idea how I can really use it but I've managed to get some really big instagramers following me, which I'm chuffed about. However I can't see how it works? If they like a post.....is it only them that sees it? What do I get out of them following me if they have 1000's of followers? What use are hashtags? As I say, it's all new.

It takes a lot of time though....for very little reward. But we'll see.

You should ask your Instagram questions at http://www.laymyhat.com/forum/viewtopic ... 5&start=30

I'm sure someone will help.

Don't be surprised though if those accounts with 1000's of followers unfollow you shortly after you have followed them. They are in it to get their numbers up so they follow your account hoping you will follow theirs and then a day or so later they will unfollow you - unless an account with a high number of followers really interests me then I do not follow them.
