Hello everyone -

New to the forum and new to renting out our holiday cottage in Dartmoor.

We were wondering if anyone knew and could recommend any agencies in the Dartmoor area? We don't think we'll have time to administer bookings etc ourselves so are not thinking about Owner's Direct etc.

Hi & welcome - I'm just down the road from you.

Helpful Holidays (in Chagford) would be the logical choice, but people have mixed feelings about them. Maybe search through the forum for some insights.

Also, Classic Cottages (Westcountry specialists - based in Cornwall) might fit the bill.

Remember that all agencies take a lot of commission, but it's a great way to get started.

Whichever you choose, make sure you know what you want from them and check the small print.
I didn't do this as we were so busy getting the cottages ready, just assumed they were all the same.
Coming to the end of our first season, we have done ok but I don't like the way our agency works.
Still under contract until next year.
