Anyone noticed that the latest Booking.com tv ad makes it look that guests can cancel as they please with no penalty and I am sure I am not the first to have guests arrive, thinking that they have already paid, as they have given their credit card details to Booking.com. I called B.com and raised these points, the very pleasant girl at the other end agreed with me but said that guests should read their information properly. Unfortunately they don’t , which causes awkward moments when payment is asked for.
B.c really need to get their act together and make things clearer. OK rant over

Nothing new, they have been doing that for a long time.

Tried booking.com for nearly a year.

Got just one booking and guests left a bit of a mess.

After that decided to leave and rely on other sources for bookings...

IMHO only having one guest in a year really means that something not correct in your listing.
What that was we can not tell. Everything from prices, conditions of payment, to photos or just too much competition in your area, Sorry it never worked for you.
You cannot blame Booking for the condition guests left your house in.
