Any one use Whichcottage.com site

Post by beef3844675 »

Hi all has anyone used whichcottage.com to advertise their property. They seem to score well for some of our keywords, price at £399 + VAT/yr is higher than we tend to use.
We are also a bit put off that they work out of a car hire company office and refuse to supply a phone number.

They have several domain names including scotland-holiday-cottage.com.

We used to advertise on there but it was about 4 or 5 years ago. We did get some bookings but they were asking for a big price increase on renewal so it wasn't worth it. The £399+VAT seems quite low by their standards. Note that they don't show a price so that they can charge different amounts to the advertisers.

After leaving them, they leave a ghost page for your property. For ours it is:
https://www.scotland-holiday-cottage.co ... bridge.htm

which is an awful practice. They obviously believe that they can pick up some extra business for their current advertisers by listing properties that they no longer deal with. But in reality, they are so far down the Google rankings that anyone searching for Tigh Mo Mhiann will have found a live listing for it long before they stray onto whichcottage.com

So, my honest but polite opinion of them is that they are crap!
Cheers, Ben
