"The home rental she found there looked good, so she tried to book it. “Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth with the emails, like bah-bah-bah, bah-bah-bah,” Fogel says, describing the booking process with his typical high-energy intensity. “Like a week and a half later, the person says, ‘OK, I can’t rent it to you,’” he says. “What a waste of energy and effort.”
Very annoying when booking on ABB to select and then be told later of all the extras. The EU had this battle with easyjet, ryanair and others over this one?
Really sleazy bunch ABB (or good businessmen), I notice that they still do not require you to be properly regulated to advertise on their site, with corresponding number of Casa Rural, Apartament Turistico or whatever here in Spain they just "strongly suggest it" .... I am surprised that this is still good enough for the Juntas here.
Horrible. Then we see questions about damage on this forum Thankfully (as far as I can recall) nothing so bad as that. Thankfully it does not occur every day in Air BnB either.
Just out of interest, do you know whether these were 'amateur' or 'pro' renters? I can imagine this sort of damage can happen with a booking through any platform, but I wonder whether airbnb encourage more amateur renters, who may not have deposits, contracts etc. in place to deter this type of guest?
