We're coming up to re-insuring our properties and have been advised that we'd get a better deal through Spanish companies. (we're Spanish Residents and have no UK properties). The most important thing for us is the public liability element. Any advice welcome
Muchas Gracias

With holiday let insurance, the cheapest annual premium is not always the best. I say this with one particular risk in mind, which is "loss of income". For us in Greece there is a real risk of serious damage, caused by fire, which could make ones rental property uninhabitable. Fire is just an example, because the risk could equally be flooding, storm damage, etc.
We have had two narrow escapes, one last year and the other recently this year, where our guests were instructed by the police to evacuate, because a nearby bush fire was being whipped up by the wind and had started to get out of hand. Thank to the strenuous efforts of the fire service, the villa was unharmed in both instances. However, the vision of a burned out villa, informing future guests that their holiday was cancelled, and paying back thousands in compensation, did haunt me.
