Twitter to market our B&B, country guesthouse

Happy New Year to Everyone!!!
I am rather computer illiterate, so do not understand much about the social networking systems. We do use FB on occassion and even place a few ads but we have never received a booking from this. I have been recently advised to use Twitter as a marketing tool. I have read now read several "How to use Twitter" posts on the internet but am still not sure how we could benefit to get more publicity for our B&B.
Can anyone give me a few insights...suggestions??? any comments appreciated...Thanks
