Pool Emergency

Post by bluebell »

We painted our pool a few weeks ago and only filled it with water last week. Big mistake to leave things so late as guests were arriving on Friday but we had no choice. On Wednesday evening we turned on the pump only to find that it had a major problem. Pump eventually went back into pool on Saturday. We live very far away from the property and rely on "employees " to advise us of the situation ( a pool boy and a professional pool maintenance company). The Pool company went on Thursday and threw some chemical into the water to try to "keep it going" until the pump started working. The pool boy had thrown 6 chlorine tablets into the skimmers.

We have had the pump on constantly since 12pm Saturday to filter the water. The pool company has said that no other chemical can be added right now. The pool boy has been three times to vacuum the pool . The water is apparently still very "dirty" although the pool boy says that he can see the bottom of the pool now!

Any advice of next step?
Of course I have to refund the guests but that is a whole other thread I will start as have no idea of what is appropriate!

Many thanks

Gosh, you have our sympathy.
Living so far from your property is obviously very difficult but if you trust your pool company hopefully they will have this situation under control quickly.
In the past we have emptied our pool rather than throw lots of chemicals into the water. It is a quick fix .
Hope all goes well

It took 3 days but the pool finally cleared. Not helped by the fact that the idiot pool guy set the pump to re-circulate rather than filter! So frustrating being far away when problems happen!

Anyone want to buy a house in Greece? Right now would give it away. HAHAHAHA

Wonderful news.
Hopefully the rest of summer will be trouble free.
