Just received a review on google.

The person that left the review never stayed at our Chambre D’Hôte.
Is there anything I can do to remove it or should I just ignore it.
We have been closed due to Covid 19

Would appreciate any advice.

If it was a good review leave it.
If it was a bad review, delete !

Hi,

It is on google where we have registered our B&B
We had 2 5 star reviews by people that had stayed with us.

This is 2 Star review with no words.

The person that registered this is unknown to us and has not stay with us.
I haven’t been given a choice to delete it.

You can flag the review as "inappropriate" to Google or you can answer the review to say "This person was not a guest of our B&B"
Or you can do both.
You can manage this via your google account.

Thank you for your help,
I flagged it with google but the reply came back to say it would remain and I can post a Reply. They do not give a place where you can complain only tick ✅ a box .


I feel if I post a reply the person will be pleased that they have upset someone.

I also have one of these reviews. Three stars and I'm sure this person never stayed with us. It's an unusual name I think I'd remember and I can't find them anywhere in my records. I reported it to Google but they never got back to me. I'm thinking of replying and saying the guest never stayed. Strangely though this person's other reviews seem real.

I also discovered a few months ago that Google have listed our cottage as a 3 star hotel somewhere! I made this discovery when a guy turned up at 10:30 one evening asking for a room for the night as he'd found us on Google! I haven't been able to get that removed either. :roll:

maybe it was a genuine error ? If you reply maybe they will realise and remove the review themselves.
Have you upset someone with another B&B locally ?

We had a review no comment but 4 star, I had no problem with that but then a day later a photo was posted by the same person but the photo was not our place even though it says it was.
I flagged it up with google who took no action as it appears they do nothing. Now I have commented saying did you stay here as the photo is not of this house?
