Hi

I currently rent my house as a locazione turistico, I live on the property in separate accommodation.

I've just been told that the I can pay tax on the locazione turistico rental income under the Cedolare Secca option, pay tax in the month following the rental at 21% and then it is excluded from my other income when I make my Italian tax return.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Debbie, I confirm cedolare secca at 21% is calculated on gross rental income and does not contribute to any other income in Italy. However, I pay it yearly with other income taxes, not monthly
I hope this helps,
Giuliano

Thanks. And it applies to short term tourist rentals, not just to residential and business lettings. When. / how do you register your contracts?

Apologies for questions, not getting any response from commercialista

You do not have to register your contract for short term rentals (i.e. less than one month). You just pass on the receipts to your accountant, so he is able to calculate what you have to pay.
