Payment by Credit card

Post by VillaAntonioLanzarote »

Hi

I am struggling find a Credit card provider to use since Brexit

Now the UK is outside the EU and my Villa is in Lanzarote (Spain EU) and I am in the UK they will not / cannot provide a service

I did use Wave/Stripe until they pulled out of Europe

Signed up with Square and SumUp both pulled the plug

Paypal charges 3.4% surcharge

Anyone else to try ??

Many thanks and keep safe

Hi,

Wave pulled out of Europe last month but that was mainly an invoicing package, which connected through to Stripe. Stripe is still available and you can invoice a customer straight from the Stripe website if you have a Stripe account.

Are you living in Spain? If so have you asked your bank if they can provided a CC machine that allows you to take payment without the card being present. Ours did.
You will still have charges that is the way of the world.
Never try to out-stubborn your guests.

Hi all,

Hope everyone is well during these crazy covid times.

Anyone else been having problems with Stripe?

They are having problems verifying my account and have a large amount of money on hold in their system.

I use a free website builder called iowners.net so I don’t have a domain email address attached to my website. People contact me through a contact page.

I’m basically being banded about from pillar to post and not getting anywhere to be honest.

Be interested to hear other people’s feedback on stripe.

Thanks

No problems at all here. It works seamlessly with my Promote my Place site

When I had an issue taking payments from booking. com they sorted it out immediately via the online chat but I assume you've tried that?
