first booking!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Topcat »

Wow! I've just had my first booking!!! Deposit paid for almost 3 weeks in July. (Of course I gave a good discount for the third week. At this stage I'm just glad to get a booking!).

They know the area and love it. Hope the apartment is ready!!!  Should be OK well before then, as I'm planning on spending most of June in it, with or without furniture.

That's great news for you Pauline. Well chuffed! Don't fret too much about whether the apartment's ready or not, think positive. IT WILL BE!

Good luck, hope it's the first of many for you!

Congratulations Pauline...well done...what a feeling eh?

Don't worry, it'll be ready on time. Like Vally we were too close for comfort too...we dashed to the airport for our flight home with our work clothes on! Exhausted, but boy what a feeling of satisfaction knowing that we had pulled it off!

Good luck, may your bookings roll in now. :D

Well Done Pauliner,

Being there in June is a great idea

we bought and prepared the houses in a weekend[not without some setbacks....]
Cant believe how naive we were.....I was waiting for the furniture to arrive and curtains hung and they started measuring to make them
[the fact that we had ordered it all months before didnt mean a lot]
We were still dashing aroung carrefour etc 1hr before we flew home....
Im sure if your theyre it will make all the difference but dont believe that things will arrive until you actually see them and dont pay anything till it arrives....

Good Luck this forum should be a great help wish Id found it when I was starting off....maybe not though it might have frightened me off........seeing all the pitfalls........Its all worth it though...

Congratulations - it's a great feeling isn't it!! We were the same as everyone else - last minute rush, up until 4.30am the previous night and then cleaning, cleaning, cleaning to make sure its absolutely perfect.

It is well worth the stress and worry though when you get the beams of smiles from the first guests as they walk through the door!

Thanks for your good wishes everybody. Yes, I'm really pleased. I couldn't believe when she wanted 19 days! It does mean we probably lose on a week that we might have got the full rental for, but equally, we might not have rented out at all.

Need a few more now!

Actually its a good job I got a booking early, as it pointed up all the things I hadn't sorted out, like booking forms, receipts etc. Hopefully I'm now on the ball (or only wobbling a bit  )

I've now produced a very simple booking form, but I've just had a message from HR offering a template for one. It looks quite good - you'd want to customise it - but I may re-jig mine now in the light of it.

Thanks again, and I wish you all a successful 2007 as well.

Pauline (now where did I put those Christmas smilies)

Well done to you Pauline, hopefully maybe we'll get some enquiries at least soon, beginning to panic a bit here  , so much more competition down our way now.
Don't waste energy on things you can't change.

Hi, Partridge. You're right about the competition. If you look in HR, then every couple of days another one goes on line.

Got to keep trying, though.

Do you ever ask guests (does anyone?) why they chose your apartment over other people's? I think that would be useful information - might tell us what to promote in particular.

I've just booked myself flights for the last 3 weeks in June. Will you be out?

Pauline
