As a kid I'd swim off Brighton beach from about May onwards but I hate swimming in cool water now. I put it down to extensive dinghy sailing where swimming usually succeeded a miscalculation.

Croatia in July last year was about right - you felt it was cold when you went in but found it OK once you were. We are going in June this year, so I hope that it will be warm enough!

They swim in the sea in Norfolk too at Xmas and the Greeks usually throw a cross in and try to find it :roll: :D

Brenda...I didnt say that I stayed in long...Its just then when someones says I shouldnt or couldnt do something Im there like a shot..... :wink: :roll: [probably not a surprise to anyone :o ]
