How stupid can I be!

Post by Bellywobble »

I'm a bit dyslexic in the figures department so husband has put together an on line calculator to make life simple for me. I put in the arrival and departure date and voila there is the total price, deposit and balance all ready for me to send. Wonderful! Not! Somehow I've managed to send the figures that were previously on the calculator, for a 3 day booking, to someone booking a week! I didn't even realise I'd done it, but husband has just received the cheque for the very low balance and my stupidity is rumbled!
Nothing to be done now, of course. I just hope these don't turn out to be our first "guests from hell". At least it's a low season week and I haven't turned any one away.More care next time..more care next time..more care next time.....

Oh Kayley that makes me feel much better!!!

I am also feeling stupid having just mistakenly quoted for 3 nights in August at our current low season special offer price. Didnt realise until booking confirmed´and too late to do anything about it.

I must do better too!

If I'm anything to go by, that might be because chaps aren't usually allowed near anything technical that involves bookings, money or the like. I am permitted to do the mowing and talk to the guests - but only under the strictest supervision.

Oh no its not ! Males just may not choose to admit it.

I have made all of the gaffs mentioned above, and even managed to take two confirmed bookings for the same week (now that really takes a prize for incompetence!). Fortunately I offloaded the second one on a neighbour before taking the initial deposit, but it was a very fraught couple of days. The guests who were offloaded were extremely nice about it - we even had a laugh on the phone.
