Has to be the pool for sure.

I asked a similar question recently and got good advise as usual.

So now you know for sure that it is the pool photo.

However, i would like to add that i don't think the 'house' photo is the best that it could be? Maybe if you took it from a diffeernt angle then it would look more inviting? At the moment it just looks like a photo of the front porch.

But still, I would go more for very good photo of a relaxing pool than a photo of the property (but I guess I would look at the property second).

Thanks for that everyone, I have always used the pool in the past but Owners Direct chose the outside view for me ( I have asked them to change now!) so I thought maybe I had it wrong!!!

So now which front view is better?? I have a choice between these two

Italian Proverb:
By asking for the impossible, obtain the best possible.
Interesting dilemma which affects everybody listing on rental sites. The lead thumbnail is the cover shot on a bookstall magazine and the single most important tool for getting potential guests to click on your listing. What to choose? It's an even bigger conundrum with multi-property complexes with all the gites on one page - ie: one thumbnail has to evoke the flavour of all your properties.

The 'traditional' approach seems to be to use a good shot of the pool - see replies to this thread. I thought long and hard about using a pool shot recently when listing on a new site but eventually decided to use a exterior picture of one of our gites because I thought it distilled more of the essence of what we have to offer.

Last summer, I considered shooting aerials of our property (using local aircraft) to use as the lead thumbnail but decided that a thumbnail must have impact when used very small and an aerial would be too 'busy' to be read easily.

I'm still not sure if I've made the right decision. As I said, it's an interesting question. I'd love to know what 'lead thumbnails' other members with multi-gite complexes use and why you chose that particular shot to advertise your site?

Meishka

Muddying the water is that you're comparing a good crisp shot of your pool with two mediocre shots of your property.

If OD are suggesting that you choose a property shot, I wouldn't dismiss their advice too easily. They are experts with an overview of the rental market and, IMO, you ignore their advice at your peril. If they care enough to make suggestions rather than just trouser your cash ... ??
