Any experience of "French Country Cottages"?

Any experience of "French Country Cottages"?

Post by Normandy Cow »

I am looking for an alternative to FrenchConnections.

Does anyone have any experience of marketing their property through www.French-country-cottages.com?

If so, do you have any comments on their service? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello again CatherineS - we advertise through Country Cottages as they were recommended for getting out-of-season bookings. In the beginning we had both our cottages with them and although they got us some out-of-season bookings they tended to be later in the year (as far as bookings were concernd) plus you have to undertake to let them have sole booking untill March 31st for that year and so where they had not sold weeks we found oursleves having to try and sell these much later than we would have liked - although at least we had that option. Last year we took 1 cottage away and so far this year we have had much better response to the cottage taken away (and advertised by us) so perhaps this year we will take the second back as well. We have to let them know by June I think. In the early days they had a superb rep who helped us a lot and gave us lots of helpful hints and tips unfortunatley she retired and when the new person took over they told us we were too far away to visit and so for the last 2 years we have not been inspected and no-one from the company has been to see us - so not best impressed by that. So hope the above has been of help
regards
