I ended up with three online ads this week. I cancelled one as the link to my website was broken, and put in a new one. But I had two ads in the paper as well, one next to Rosbif's on the top of the France section, and the other under my resort. I haven't looked to see if I've had any click throughs from the online ad yet.

I also placed an ad - thanks memes for info.

I typed:
PISSOURI BAY Villa. www.pissouribay.com

What came back:
OURI BAY Villa. www.ouribay.com

Obscenity filter!

I then typed:
P.ISSOURI BAY Villa. www.p.issouribay.com
and had to ring them up to delete the extra full stops.

They did, but when I checked the online advert, they'd left one in the website link. So altogether it took 4 attempts. It did seem to increase my hits, though!

Have just reread forum rules and think above post might be regarded as self-advertising. I didn't mean it that way - I just thought it was quite funny.

Moderators please remove if it offends.

I agree - the whole thing is wonderful - good old Sunday Times - heart of gold, heading for sainthood etc.

Er, hate to be a wet blanket, but has anyone actually had a booking yet? Must have been a few hundred combined man/woman/goat hours put in on this.

Someone booked through my website on Sunday, only evaluted click-through was Times Online , although he said Google. Google normally shows up on stats though. I've had loads of other click-throughs, but the first ski article only appeared this weekend. Funnily enough, it was about EAster holiday dates, and this is precisely what this guy booked.

I've had nothing from it, no calls

Maybe a couple of click throughs but nothing much at all. I don't think my little studio is the Sunday Times reader's kind of holiday accommodation, maybe I should be advertising in the Sun  !

May as well keep trying though as its free :?

RB, ski ads and articles will be picking up soon. I will keep it up for a while as it costs nothing.
