Just placed mine using Vista and IE7 - everything fine except that the photo dialog wouldn't work. It appeared but as a transparent window.

I tried placing an ad with Firefox, Safari and IE5.2 on my Mac with no joy. So I rang the Times and the guy said it won't work on Macs. I pointed out that was a little ironic seeing as they are a publishing company and no doubt use Macs all the time and that it isn't especially hard to get pages to work on more than one browser!

He gave me the name of a woman to book it with over the phone, but then you have to pay for it to be set. Funny that!

Stupid though, I would be very annoyed if I were willing to pay £395 for some ads and they hadn't bothered to format it properly.

Have since tried again with two different versions of IE on PCs and still not working. V. frustrating!

Hi eldrep,

I managed to solve my problem by clearing the browser cache and rebooting. It's odd that it you're not having any joy at all. Can you describe to me exactly what you're seeing at the point that it no longer works - at is were...

Maybe you could do a screen grab and insert into your reply like this:

You'll have to upload the image to your server. Perhaps that would be easy for you and perhaps not. If not don't worry we'll use words instead

Hi Clive

Thanks very much for your help, but miraculously my mum managed it on her work PC. No doubt someone else on here will find your tip useful though!
So fingers crossed for some bookings now!

Cheers again!

Just spotted this thread and got my free ad - thanks for pointing this out!

It'll be interesting to see if it has any effect!

Clive,

If you could reduce the width of the image, that would be great, as it is making the page too wide, you have to scroll sideways to read posts.

Our ad was in last Sunday and the phone never stopped ringing!

Er hang on, oops, that'd be "never started".

I THINK that we did get an email that resulted from the link in thead but nothing came of it.

My verdict- Free but not very useful.

Yes, I put mine in for a few weeks last year, about July/August time. I had one enquiry but the week he wanted was booked and I never heard anything else.

I'm going to try it again shortly - I think this may be a good time of year.

The initial link on the first post is not trusted

Thanks for sharing this. I'd never heard of it and would like to know more. Some of you have had inquiries from this. Would someone please share the link again? I clicked on the initial link but my browser (FireFox) told me it wasn't trusted and so I wasn't sure whether to continue. Thanks!

Good point. Worth a try, though.
